Galway Bay fm newsroom - A small group of protestors gathered at City Hall this afternoon in a call to revoke the freedom of the city from Aung San Suu Kyi.
The well known human rights activist received the honour in 2005.
However her leadership role since 2016 has been called into question in recent years.
This is due to continuing abuses in Myanmar and nearby border areas where thousands of Rohingya Muslims have been displaced from Myanmar into neighbouring Bangladesh due to an army crackdown.
A group of 10 Rohingya refugees and supporters from Carlow and Dublin gathered as councillors entered City Hall for their monthly meeting today.
They spoke to our reporter Shauna Coen and urged members to revoke the honour from Aung San Suu Kyi, tune in to FYI Galway@5 to hear them...
