Galway Bay fm newsroom - A protest will take place at the Cúl Trá halting site in Salthill on Monday week, after 10 Traveller families were served with notices to quit, due to health and safety concerns.
The demonstration is being organised by the Galway Traveller Movement and is being supported by the Galway Anti Racism Network.
The GARN is accusing the city council of failing to address safety issues at the halting site.
In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, the city council says it's working with the individual families involved and is in discussion in a bid to resolve their accommodation needs.
It adds that overcrowding is a serious health and safety concern.
The protest will take place at Cúl Tra on June 5th.
