Galway Bay fm newsroom - Power has been restored to over 600 homes in Clifden this morning following Storm Gareth.
An orange wind warning came into effect for Galway last evening and expired at 9am.
Winds of up to 130 kilometers per hour have hit parts of the west and north-west over the past 24 hours.
636 customers were without electricity in Clifden earlier this morning and supply has now been restored.
A further 100 households are without power in Oughterard, while a pocket of 12 homes are also impacted in Carraroe.
A yellow wind alert is in place for Munster, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Roscommon until midday.
