Portiuncula Hospital awaits work schedule for replacement of CT scanner

Galway Bay fm newsroom - An area has been identified for the replacement of the CT scanner at Portiuncula Hospital n Ballinasloe.

Saolta officials advised that an area has been identified in the under-croft of the theatre which is adjacent to the ground floor of the hospital.

The East Galway facility is awaiting a work schedule and timeframe for the project and is working with the design team.

A meeting of the Regional Health Forum West was advised Saolta is currently renting a temporary CT scanner in the interim period.

Ballinasloe area councillor Evelyn Parsons said the project must be accelerated.
