Portiuncula Hospital says its heart attack mortality rates are in line with national average

Portiuncla Hospital has defended itself - assuring its heart attack mortality rates are in line with the national average.

It's after a new report from the department of health indicated the Ballinasloe hospital is among the hospitals which have the highest death rate in the country for people who've had a heart attack.

General Manager at Portiuncla Hospital, James Keane, says issues in data collection for such reports have been identified by the hospital.
