Politicians lay out opposing views as Ring Road plans under fresh consideration by An Bord Pleanala

Two local politicians have been laying out their opposing stalls as plans for the Galway Ring Road are under fresh consideration by An Bord Pleanala.

Permission for the long awaited project was quashed a year ago, after An Bord Pleanala failed to take into account the latest Climate Action Plan.

Now, the planning authority is to put fresh eyes on a re-submitted application – though no timeframe has been established for a decision.

David Nevin has been speaking to Senator Pauline O’ Reilly and Deputy Eamon O’ Cuiv – who have very different opinions on the importance of the project.
