Plans lodged for sports facilities in Kinvara

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Plans have been lodged for a new multi-purpose astro pitch in Kinvara.

The project is led by Kinvara Hockey Club and would be located at Moy Road.

There'd be a new multi-purpose astro pitch, fencing, floodlighting, parking and revised entrance.

Kinvara Hockey Club was founded in 1980 and played on the sloped grass pitch at Seamount College.

A recent fund-raising campaign for what the club called a 'desperately' needed new home raised €48 thousand.

A decision is due next month.
