Galway Bay fm newsroom - An Bord Pleanala has rejected plans for a major mixed-use development at City North Business Park on the Tuam Road.
The plans would have included several blocks of commercial offices, over 300 apartments, retail units and a 150 bed hotel with leisure centre.
Following a third party appeal, the planning body has now refused permission, overturning the original approval from Galway City Council last year.
They found the proposed development would be contrary to the current Galway City Development Plan.
Speaking to Galway Talks, Councillor Mike Crowe says both the third party appeal and the decision from the board are a cause for concern.
