Galway Bay fm newsroom - Plans have been lodged for a new building for Ballinasloe National School.
Scoil Chroi Naofa has long been described as completely unfit for purpose by local campaigners and politicans, who’ve pushed for a new school for decades.
[The long-awaited plans would involve the demolition of the current school building, which has a floor area of around 650sqm.
In its place would be a significantly larger 2-storey building, with a total floor area of over 3,500sqm.
There'd also be a new access road created, as well as new parking areas and drop off zones, new playing pitch and play areas, and new access gates.
County planners are due to make a decision in November (23/11).
