Galway Bay fm newsroom - County planners have refused a proposal to build a primary care centre in Summerfield in Claregalway.
The plan led by Philip Doyle of Valley Healthcare would have involved a centre consisting of 2 storey with part 3 storey.
This would include pharmacy retails unit at ground level with surface car parking.
In turning down the proposal, planners raised concerns over the width of a footpath on the edge of the public road to the junction with the N83.
It was also stated that in the absence of a road safety audit on the proposed changes at the junction with the N83, it is considered it would endanger public safety by reason of traffic hazard.
Concerns were also raised over the height, scale and mass of the proposed development.
