Galway Bay fm newsroom - Strike action planned at Tesco stores nationwide, including in Ballinasloe, has been suspended pending discussion at the Labour Court.
The Ballinasloe outlet is one of five Tesco stores in the city and county and was one of six branches nationwide which planned to join an ongoing national strike.
Strike action was already underway at 16 Tesco stores around the country, in a row over proposed contract changes for workers who were employed before 1996.
All ongoing and planned strike action has now been suspended ahead of upcoming talks at the Labour Court between the retailer and the Mandate Trade Union.
Mandate General Secretary John Douglas is hopeful that the dispute will be resolved.
