Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are plans to introduce a pay-to-use portable waste compactor at a city fuel station.
An application led by Ellen Reville Kollect on Demand Ltd has secured planning permission from city planners.
It ‘s set to provide a pay-to-use portable waste compactor for the acceptance of residual and food waste and a pay-to-use portable compactor for mixed recyclables.
The facility would be placed at Circle K, Newcastle Service Station at Upper Newcastle.
Eight conditions are attached to the grant of planning permission.
One states the permission is to last for a period of five years and that any recyclables containers are then to be removed.
It’s also stated the area surrounding the recyclables container is to be kept free of rubbish at all times.
