Galway Bay fm newsroom - Plans for a major expansion of Galway City Museum have been approved.
City Councillors approved the project at a meeting in City Hall this week.
However, the new development is dependent on at least 5 million euro in funding from Fáilte Ireland.
The plans for the Museum are based on the use of the adjoining Comerford House which would give scope for interactive equipment and various types of exhibitions.
City Council CEO, Brendan McGrath, told Councillors that the cost is projected at €8.37m.
