Galway Bay fm newsroom - Wage increases in Galway are below the national average according to a new report.
Recruitment firm CV-Library.ie compiled the report which shows that nationally, average pay climbed by 7 per cent in August compared to the same month last year.
In Galway the average salary increased by just 1.6 per cent to 41 thousand euro.
Limerick enjoyed the highest wage increase by 21 per cent followed by Cork with 9 per cent, while Dublin's average pay dropped by 12.5 per cent.
Just over 3 per cent more jobs were on offer in Galway in August compared to nearly 12 per cent in Dublin.
A record 2.3 million people were employed in Ireland in the second quarter of 2019, while the average Irish income is now 39 thousand euro.
