Galway Bay fm newsroom - A survey has found that over half of Galway workers feel they haven't benefited from the positive trends in the economy.
The survey was carried out by Jobs Expo Galway, ahead of a careers event taking place at the Galmont Hotel tomorrow morning (22/2)
The survey found that 54 percent of Galway workers do not feel they've benefited from the upturn in the economy, while just under half reported that their mental health had suffered because of their job.
40 percent said a lack of opportunities have halted their professional progression; 32 percent felt the working demands placed on them were unreasonable; and 29 percent were affected by the housing crisis.
Almost 1 in 4 reported being bullied by their boss, while 1 in 5 experienced bullying from colleagues.
Meanwhile, of those who were offered a job in the past year, just over half felt they were offered a fair salary - although the potential for career advancement and a good working environment were the top factors for Galway workers when considering a position.
The survey was conducted on behalf of Jobs Expo Galway, a careers opportunity event which gets underway at the Galmont Hotel tomorrow.
