Galway Bay fm newsroom - Funding of almost €3.7 million has been allocated for more than 60 road projects across county Galway under two schemes to support active travel measures and climate change adaptation.
As part of the scheme, over one million euro has been allocated for 23 projects for climate change adaptation measures with the largest allocation of 150 thousand euro going to South Galway to raise a number of roads prone to flooding and closure every winter.
As part of the active travel measures scheme, 41 road projects in the county are set to benefit from a total allocation of over €2.6 million.
Minister for Road Transport and Logistics and Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton says projects that could be quickly progressed and completed before the end of November were prioritised.
