Over 650 close pandemic unemployment payment in Galway this week

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 650 people in Galway have ceased their pandemic unemployment payment in the last week.

10,793 people are claiming the benefit this week, compared to 11,450 last week.

In the past seven days, 9,974 people nationwide have closed their claim.

This week the sector with the largest number of employees returning to work is Accommodation and Food Service Activities followed by the Education sector.

The largest age cohort returning to work is in the 35-44 group.
