Over 3 thousand Galway students can now access Leaving Cert results online

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 3,100 students across Galway are now able to access their Leaving Cert results online.

This year's results have just been published.

Over 60 thousand students nationwide are now able to access their calculated grade online.

This year's results are the highest ever recorded, with students grades on average 4.4 per cent higher compared to previous years.

More H1's were issued in every higher level subject this year compared to the previous two.

Education Minister Norma Foley has acknowledged that not every student will be happy.

She says the decision to provide calculated grades was made in the best interest of students.

Any students with concerns about their results can call the Leaving Certificate helpline on 1800 265 165.

It's open from 11 o'clock this morning.

However, the overall increase in results has led to concerns it could put those applying to the CAO from previous years at a disadvantage.

Sinn Fein's Education Spokesperson, Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire says this can't be allowed happen....
