Over 200 children to spend Christmas in emergency accommodation provided by COPE Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 200 children will spend this Christmas in emergency accommodation provided by COPE Galway.

The charity says for 37 of those children, it will be their second Christmas in a row in emergency accommodation.

The figure has been provided as preparations are underway for the 10th COPE Galway Sleep Out, which will take place tomorrow evening. (3/12)

The annual event sees business and community leaders sleep out on Shop Street to raise funds for COPE Galway's Homeless Service.

Assistant CEO Martin O' Connor says for many families across Galway, it will be a very stressful Christmas.
