Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 130 homes in the Loughrea area are without power following lightning storms overnight.
Nationally, several hundred homes and businesses are without a service.
The ESB says properties in Waterford, Wexford and Kerry are worst affected.
It's expected power will be stored to 135 affected homes in Loughrea by lunchtime.
