Galway Bay fm newsroom - An appraisal on a possible extension of the Western Rail Corridor is set to be presented to the department of transport by the end of the month.
The financial and economic appraisal has been devised to establish if the proposed extensions to the corridor from Athenry to Tuam and from Tuam to Claremorris represent value for money.
EY-DKM Economic Advisory was hired in June to undertake the appraisal and public and stakeholder consultation.
Iarnród Éireann received over 600 submissions as part of the public consultation process which closed in July.
