From Galway Bay FM newsroom- The OPW Minister says Galway County Council is "head and shoulders" above other local authorities in advocating for, and advancing, flood defense projects.

It comes as Minister Patrick O' Donovan is in Craughwell today, to oversee the official handing over of the Dunkellin Flood Relief Scheme.
In 2010, a study on the Dunkellin River and the Aggard Stream, from Craughwell village to Kilcolgan, was commissioned as a result of flooding that occurred in the area in November 2009.

Speaking to Galway Talks, OPW Minister Patrick O' Donovan says Galway County Council deserve praise for their efforts.
