Objections to planned housing development in Roscam

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Plans for 60 new homes in Roscam have been objected to.

O' Malley Construction was granted planning permission by the city council for more than 60 new homes at Curragrean, adjoining the Boireann Bheag estate.

However that decision has now been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.

The houses and apartments at Roscam would be a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced homes.

The apartments in the development would be for use by the Housing Authority.

In an appeal to An Bord Pleanála, Boireann Bheag Management Company argues that there are serious deficiencies in the road network in the area.

They also claim that the proposed development depends on cars as a travel mode.

An Bord Pleanála is due to decide on the future of the residential development in Roscam in June.
