Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway West TD Eamon O'Cuiv has hit out at a Government plan which he claims has not seen the delivery of meaningful change to rural communities.
The plan to rejuvenate rural Ireland was announced by Government in January and involves a scheme with 270 action items.
The plan aims to support enterprise and employment, maximise rural tourism and recreation potential, as well as improve rural infrastructure and connectivity.
Fianna Fail Deputy O'Cuiv argues that three months on, there are no notable improvements in towns and villages as regards infrastructure or employment opportunities.
He claims rural areas are being let down by the scheme.
