Researchers from the Geography department in NUIG have released a major new report that examines energy use across Europe.
Energise, the European research initiative led by NUIG, focused on the role of households in transitioning to a low-carbon lifestyle for the study.
NUIG along with 10 other research partners across Europe, have released a report called "Energy Living Labs," which reviewed the energy usage of households from eight countries in Europe.
One of the key findings from the study was that Irish households run the highest number of laundry cycles at seven a week.
38 Irish households took part in the trial which lasted four weeks.
