Galway Bay fm newsroom - NUI Galway has once again experienced a sharp drop in revenue from student accommodation.
A new survey reveals the university took in €5.2m last year - a decrease of several hundred thousand euro for the second year running, despite rising rents.
Recent figures show that student accommodation rates at NUI Galway have risen by 4 percent in the past year - broadly in line with universities nationwide.
However, unlike other universities, NUI Galway saw a drop in overall revenue from student accommodation last year - for the second year in a row.
According to the Irish Independent, NUI Galway took in €5.2m last year - compared to €5.45m in 2017, and over €6m in 2016.
