Galway Bay fm newsroom - NUI Galway is to launch its five-year strategic plan today which vows to deliver transformational change.
The plan, called "Shared Vision, Shaped by Values", will be officially launched by the University President, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, later this morning.
The strategic plan 2020-2025 commits NUI Galway to enhancing policy and society, enriching creativity, improving health and wellbeing, and sustaining the planet.
The strategy also outlines a five-year development programme called "Building for the Future".
It includes projects such as a new innovation district which will incorporate a riverside campus on Nuns' Island, additional affordable and sustainable on-campus accommodation, the expansion of the Galway to Connemara Greenway, a new Water Sports Centre and a new library.
The strategy also commits the university to fair and inclusive employment as well as becoming more sustainable.
