Galway Bay fm newsroom - A major medical device research centre based at NUI Galway has announced a international research collaboration with the prestigious Mayo Clinic in the US.
CÚRAM will now work with the Minnesota non-profit group to undertake extensive international research into blood clots that cause ischemeic stroke.
Ischemic stroke occurs when an obstruction forms within a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain.
The project aims to analyze clots from stroke patients in Europe and the US to advance and improve therapies for stroke patients.
