Galway Bay fm newsroom - NUI Galway's President says public consultation proved invaluable in the development of its five year strategic plan.
University President, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh has just launched the plan entitled "Shared Vision, Shaped by Values" at the Newcastle campus.
The plan which covers 2020-2025 vows to deliver transformational change and commits NUI Galway to enhancing policy and society, enriching creativity, improving health and wellbeing, and sustaining the planet.
The strategy also outlines a five-year development programme called "Building for the Future".
It includes projects such as a new innovation district which will incorporate a riverside campus on Nuns' Island, additional affordable and sustainable on-campus accommodation, the expansion of the Galway to Connemara Greenway, a new Water Sports Centre and a new library.
