Galway Bay fm newsroom - There's been no overall change in the number of Covid-19 patients in Galway's public hospitals despite a slight rise at UHG.
There are now eight cases of Covid-19 at the city hospital - four of whom are in the ICU.
That's an increase of two patients since yesterday.
Meanwhile, there are four patients with the virus at Portiuncula Hospital, two of whom are being treated in intensive care.
That's a drop of two patients since yesterday, when there were six patients with Covid-19 at the Ballinasloe facility.
Over the past week, the figures at Galway's hospitals have remained low and largely stable.
It comes as the chief medical officer says 'riskier' activities by a small number of people may be spreading Covid.
Dr Tony Holohan says people need to stick with the Covid restrictions.
