No new cases of COVID 19 in Galway as thousands of businesses set to reopen

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Thousands more businesses will reopen their doors this morning as Phase 2 of the country’s reopening gets underway.

Groups of up to six can meet indoors from today and those who need to cocoon can also have visitors but they must wear face masks and gloves.

The travel limit has been extended from 5 to 20 kilometres while travel is permitted anywhere within your own county.

Up to 25 friends and family can now attend funerals.

The latest figures show one more person with the virus died and 25 new cases have been confirmed.

Galway has 481 recorded cases of the virus to date - with no new cases in the county for the fifth consecutive day.
