The Ambassador of New Zealand is visiting Mountbellew and Kilconnell today.
Sir Trevor Mallard says he's keen to build on the agricultural connections between his country and Ireland.
Key to the ambassadors visit are those strong agricultural links - with agribusiness trade, research collaborations, and work experience exchanges flowing in both directions.
Among his stops today are Mountbellew Agricultural College, and a visit to the Living Bog Experience.
Ambassador Mallard will also meet with local groups to discuss a wide range of initiatives, including a successful European programme to support female-led innovation in rural areas.
On his way back to Dublin, he'll also stop off in Kilconnell - to meet the cricket team and hear about the links between sport and the local community.
Ambassador Mallard himself has strong links to Ireland - four of his grandchildren were born here, and three live in Galway.
