Galway Bay fm newsroom - A new report has found that Galway City Council did not draw down any funds for Traveller accommodation last year.
The Traveller Accommodation Expert Review found it's one of ten local authorities around the county to not draw funding.
Earlier in the summer the local authority was criticised for its alleged inaction on improving sub-standard conditions at Traveller accommodation.
The review by the Department of Housing made a number of recommendations aimed at ending the deadlock in the delivery of Traveller housing.
It says local objections are the biggest obstacles to providing Travelller housing and recommended members of the public shouldn't be allowed to object to Traveller Accommodation.
