The number of new homes receiving planning permission in County Galway is down a quarter.
The CSO figures account for permission for new houses, one-off houses, multi-development houses and apartments.
From January to March of this year, 231 new units were granted permission - while that stood at over 300 for the same period last year.
The city outlook remains consistent - 19 new homes have been granted permission in the first quarter of 2024, compared to 18 in 2023.
