New courses at UG and ATU Galway to boost pharmacists and rural GPs

The Higher Education Minister has announced new courses and programmes set to have a "transformative" impact on third level healthcare places.

University of Galway will oversee a rural and remote graduate entry GP course, while both it and ATU Galway will offer new pharmacy programmes.

The programmes are also being rolled out at several other regional institutions.

Minister for Higher Education Patrick O'Donovan says offering these courses gives students the opportunity to train at home.
