Galway City Centre has won a national Silver award in the city centres section of this year's prestigious SuperValu TidyTowns awards while Tuam has scooped a Bronze Medal in the national large towns category
Milltown has once again claimed the prize as Galway's tidiest town, narrowly beating Abbey by just points with Spiddal finishing in third
Milltown and Abbey have also claimed national gold awards in their population category while in the same category Tullycross Village scooped a national Endeavour award
Galway also scooped several other awards:
Abbeyknockmoy Parish Society won 2,000 euro in the VILLAGE & SMALL TOWN CATEGORY OF THE GUM LITTER TASK FORCE AWARD
Cuan Beo Environmental CLG won a thousand euro in THE WATERS AND COMMUNITIES AWARD
Oranmore TidyTowns won a thousand euro in the LARGE TOWN REGIONAL WEST AND NORTH WEST LOCAL AUTHORITY POLLINATOR AWARD
Kinvara TidyTowns and Abbey TidyTowns each won 500 euro in the EPA CIRCULAR ECONOMY AWARD
