Galway Bay fm newsroom - Three young men have been located safe and well in the Kylebrack area following a search operation launched this morning.
It's understood the group made contact with Valencia Coast Guard when they became lost in woodland south of Loughrea.
Two units from the Galway Mountain Rescue Team were dispatched to woodland in Kylebrack, south of Loughrea, along with Gardai and staff from forestry body Coillte.
It's believed the three young men had become lost after entering the woods this morning and subsequently made contact with emergency services around 9am.
Rescuers were unable to establish contact with the missing men - but they were subsequently discovered by a member of the public at around 3pm.
Gardai say the men suffered no injuries and are now safe and well.
It follows the discovery of the body of a man during a search for a missing hillwalker in Connemara yesterday.
The man, understood to be from Dublin and aged in his 50's, had been walking alone on the northern end of the Maamturk Mountains.
His body was located on the eastern side of Leenane Hill yesterday afternoon and was recovered by members of Galway and Mayo Mountain Rescue teams.
