Galway Bay fm newsroom - A local delegation is set to meet with the Minister with responsibility for Ports Hildegarde Naughton to discuss the future of Galway Port.
The delegation has sought the meeting to explore the possibility of re-conferring Galway Port with Tier two status.
It comes as Galway City Council has voted to defer making a decision on the future of the Galway Port Company until such time as the delegation, made-up of the City Chief Executive, city councillors and Galway TDs, meet with the new Port's Minister.
The Galway Port Company manages upwards of 44 million euro worth of land at Galway’s docklands.
