Minister to attend Oranmore meeting on lack of public transport in South Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Minister Jack Chambers is to attend a round-table discussion in Oranmore this afternoon, on lack of public transport options in the South Galway area.

The meeting is organised by Councillor Martina Kinane, and will be attended by community reps from Oranmore, Maree, Clarinbridge, Kilcolgan and Gort.

Councillor Kinane says the lack of public transport means residents in these areas have no choice but to use cars.

She argues the recent announcement of a major overhaul to the city bus network was a lost opportunity to tie in with the county.
