Speaking to our reporter Stella Meehan, Minister Coveney said the framework will support expansion of the city and Galway's rural communities.

Later this afternoon, Minister Coveney will meet with Parkmore business leaders and representatives of Galway Chamber to discuss the serious congestion in the area.

Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton organised the meeting, which will also be attended by Minister Sean Kyne and City CEO Brendan McGrath, as concern mounts over the welfare of the thousands of employees who work in Parkmore.

Earlier this week Enda Kenny was briefed on the problems at Parkmore, such as delays exiting the business park, and has requested another meeting on the issue next week.
