Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Minister for Rural and Community Development says the "ball is in Galway County Council's court" with regards to the long-awaited development of the pier on Inis Oírr.
Deputy Catherine Connolly has raised the issue in the Dáil, expressing concern over long-running delays with the project.
She said it is most worrying that there's been seemingly little progress, despite a business case being agreed last April.
She noted construction was scheduled to begin by the end of this year - but the project seems to be moving backwards at the moment.
Minister Humphreys admitted she is concerned - but said the matter now lies with Galway County Council, who is submitting an application for a foreshore licence.
