Galway Bay fm newsroom - Minister Leo Varadkar says he has 'unfinished business' in health - and he's pushing the Government for greater investment in Galway.
It comes as the Social Protection Minister is in Loughrea today for a series of engagements.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Minister Varadkar admitted that Galway has fallen far behind other cities in terms of health infrastructure.
His comments come as funding has so far only been sanctioned for the design of a new emergency department at UHG.
However, Health Minister Simon Harris has previously indicated that funding for the build will be included in the HSE mid term review due this summer.
Minister Varadkar told our reporter Lyndsay Hughes he's making a strong case at the cabinet table for improved facilities in Galway.
