Minister claims vested interests trying to 'frustrate' delivery of new A and E for Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Minister of State says he believes there are certain interests blocking the progression of a new Emergency Department at University Hospital Galway.

Officials recently confirmed that the new two-storey emergency department would not be completed until 2023.

At a meeting of the Regional Health Forum, the HSE confirmed that a planning application would be submitted in the next 12 weeks.

However, speaking on Galway Talks, Junior Minister and Government Chief Whip, Seán Kyne says he believes there are people who are 'frustrating' plans for a new A&E at UHG because they want it all moved out to Merlin Park. For more on this story tune in to Galway Bay fm news on the hour...
