Galway Bay fm newsroom - A train is set to leave Ceannt station in the city in the next few minutes (11.05) en route to Heuston Station in Dublin.
Many commuters and visitors in Galway have been left stranded today as Bus Eireann staff engage in an all-out strike.
They're refusing to work under the threat of pay cuts which bosses claim they have no option but to enforce.
While school bus services are running in Galway today, all other Bus Eireann services have been cancelled due to the strike action.
It's understood private bus services are heavily booked as a result.
Rail services have been affected as rail workers won't cross the picket lines manned by about 35 Bus Eireann drivers at Ceannt station in the city.
The 7.40a.m Galway-Heuston service did operate earlier and the 11.05 service from Galway to Dublin will depart from Ceannt station in the next few minutes.
The 20 past 7 Galway to Heuston train will also go ahead as well as the Heuston to Galway - match special - train at 11.25 tonight.
The 11.25a.m, 1.05p.m, 5.30p.m, 6.30p.m and 7.35p.m Dublin to Galway services have all been cancelled.
There will be no service running between Galway and Limerick.
The reason some trains are running between Galway and Dublin is because these trains are staffed by rail workers from Athlone or Heuston which are not sites of Bus Eireann picket lines.
