A survivor of the Miami Showband Massacre is set to visit Galway city today to talk about his experience.
Stephen Travers will be speaking about the event in the University of Galway at 7 this evening.
It’s almost 50 years since the massacre took place after one of their gigs in Co. Down in July 1975.
A bomb which was placed on the band's bus exploded prematurely, killing two of the attackers, Harris Boyle and Wesley Somerville.
Their accomplices then opened fire on the band, murdering three members Fran O’Toole, Tony Geraghty and Brian McCoy.
The Ulster Volunteer Force was held responsible for the murder of the 5 people.
Tonight's event in the university's Human Biology Building is being hosted by Galway Sinn Féin.
