Galway Bay fm newsroom - Medtronic says the 200 new jobs being announced this morning will be high-calibre and very diverse in nature.
The roles - which will be officially announced by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar shortly - will include biomechanical and biomedical engineers, data experts, pharmacists and chemists,
The new jobs build on an existing workforce of more than 3 thousand at the two Galway plants at Parkmore and Mervue.
Speaking to Galway Talks, Vice President of Global Operations Gerry Kilcommins says Medtronic is proud to play a strong role in Galway's thriving medtech sector.
