Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Mayor Mike Cubbard has moved to thank the ruling pact - of which he is part - as negotiations begin to consider the formation of a new grouping.
It's understood the ruling pact held a meeting last night to discuss the future of the group.
It comes as Independent councillor Noel Larkin has tendered his resignation from the group, Social Democrats councillor Owen Hanley has confirmed he is no longer a member of the pact and Independent Declan McDonnell is understood to have left the meeting last evening.
The pact of 10 was formed in May 2019 with the support of six Independents, two Greens, one Labour and one Social Democrats member.
Mayor Mike Cubbard told Galway Talks he tried his best to keep the current pact intact.
He says the next pact will have difficult decisions given the upcoming budget and the ongoing impact of the pandemic on finances
Social Democrats councillor Owen Hanley says in review the pact may have been too fractured...
