Galway Bay fm newsroom - Mayor of Galway Pearce Flannery is meeting with OPW Minister Kevin Boxer Moran at Galway Docks this morning.
It's after severe flooding was experienced across the city and at Salthill overnight as Storm Eleanor swept across the county.
Galway City Council says all available crews are out on clean up operations following what it describes as 'unprecedented' conditions.
Mayor Pearce Flannery is meeting the OPW Minister around now and it's expected he'll seek a commitment to a major flood defence project.

Speaking before the meeting, Mayor Flannery says Galway is now one of the most exposed cities in Europe.
