Galway Bay fm newsroom - A man arrested in connection with an alleged attempted burglary in the city last Sunday has been remanded in custody after a court appearance.
The man, who's in his 30s and originally from Ballybane but with a current address in Roscommon appeared before Galway District Court.
The man was arrested along with a second man last Sunday evening around 7 o' clock allegedly trying to gain entry to a house at Roscam with a weapon.
The occupants of the house, who were present at the time, alerted gardaí and the men were taken to Millstreet garda station for questioning.
One of the men is currently in hospital for treatment but remains in garda custody.
The second man appeared before Galway District Court today charged with aggravated burglary under Section 13 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He was remanded in custody to Castlerea prison to appear before the court again next week.
