Galway Bay fm newsroom - The man killed in a road traffic crash near Claregalway last evening has been named locally as Tommy Farrell.
Mr. Farrell died after he was involved in a two vehicle collision on the N63 at Rooaunmore at around 5 last evening.
Nobody else was injured during the incident.
Mr Farrell - who was 77 years of age - was living in Rooaunmore but was originally from Edenderry in Co. Offaly.
He's survived by his three daughters and two sons, as well as extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the incident - particularly those who may have been traveling along the N63 last evening and have dash-cam footage.
